How TUCoRE Projects Evolve The nucleus of the TUCoRE program is the incubator where potential research projects are evaluated for relevance to Chevron needs. Projects are proposed by a Chevron champion and supported by a TU faculty member with appropriate expertise. If approved, funding is solicited from Chevron, and the projects moves outside the nucleus. Projects outside the nucleus may include other industry participants when appropriate. All projects operate under the supervision of the Chevron program manager. Resulting technology is then transferred to business units for integration into industry operations. Small-scale projects may be completed within the TUCoRE nucleus. Further strengthening the process are educational components such as summer internships, financial support of honors programs and graduate scholarships. Chevron's commitment to the TUCoRE program to date totals about $2 million. Future funding levels will depend in part on the participation of outside corporate partners. |
