Gerry ElphingstoneGerry has 23 years experience in the Upstream Oil & Gas industry working across the Chevron Enterprise. He has demonstrated success in developing and deploying technology to projects and base business across Chevron.

He is currently the Flow Assurance Chapter Manager in the Chevron Technical Center while also serving as the Global Job Family Manager for Process Engineering.

Gerry previously was the Team Manager – Productions Systems in the Energy Technology Company (ETC) which followed a development assignment in Upstream Capability responsible for Process Engineering Organizational Capability.

Gerry spent 3+ years as the Team Manager for the ETC Perth Process Engineering Team in the Asia-Pacific region (Perth) supporting Chevron operations and Major Capital Projects. In addition, Gerry managed a strategic research alliance in a region of key importance to Chevron.

In 2008, Gerry was the Technical Team Lead – Flow Assurance Projects & Operations Support in ETC. He led a diverse team supporting Chevron Operating Units and Major Capital Projects Worldwide.

In 2002, Gerry was seconded to the Deepwater Exploration & Projects (DWEP) business unit for the Tahiti project. He led all flow assurance from just after Discovery through start-up of all wells including conceptual engineering, pre-Front End Engineering & Design (pre-FEED), FEED, and project execution. Gerry was also a member of the Operations Start-Up Team focused on executing a safe, timely, cost effective, and incident-free start-up of the Tahiti Facility while providing an interface to other discipline teams including subsurface, subsea, topsides, hookup & commissioning, and installation.

Gerry began his career with Texaco Exploration & Production Technology Department developing and deploying technology, including all aspects of flow assurance.

Gerry graduated from the University of Missouri-Rolla with a BS in Chemical Engineering (1990) and from Texas A&M University with a MS and PhD in Chemical Engineering (1997).
