Austin PrescottAustin Prescott worked as a Research Assistant in the Erosion/Corrosion Research Center (E/CRC) at The University of Tulsa from Summer 2014 to Fall 2016. He received a B. S. in Mechanical Engineering at Oklahoma State University (OSU) in 2013 and a M. S. in Mechanical Engineering at The University of Tulsa (TU) in 2017. In the E/CRC Mr. Prescott conducted research on the effectiveness of chemical inhibitors on the erosion-corrosion of carbon steel as well as reasearch on the erosion-corrosion of boronized coatings. The research included the operation and troubleshooting of flowloops, the setup and troubleshooting of equipment and software for data acquisition, the design of signal filters, the installation and troubleshooting of 4/20mA current loops, the installtion and troubleshooting of electrical resitence (ER) probes, the operation and troubleshooting of linear polarization resistence probes (LPR), the analysis of measurement uncertainty, the 3-dimensional analysis of coupon surfaces, and the training of new research assistants.
